{"id":391,"date":"2017-07-09T09:13:01","date_gmt":"2017-07-09T15:13:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/krisp.ca\/mobile\/?p=391"},"modified":"2017-07-09T09:14:05","modified_gmt":"2017-07-09T15:14:05","slug":"manage-agreements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/krisp.ca\/mobile\/manage-agreements\/","title":{"rendered":"Manage agreements, not people."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Did we ever tell you that in founding krisp one of our &#8216;big hairy goals&#8217; was the elimination of three cancer cells of traditional ad agencies?<\/p>\n<p>As everyone&#8217;s pressed for time, today, let us tell you about one of those three and how one decision we made early on might help you in your business.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of having a fixed staff that meets in one office, the krisp crew assembles in a non-traditional way: Digitally.<\/p>\n<p>We do this to better serve you because a lot of talented people are freelancers scattered around the globe.<\/p>\n<p>One of the challenges we had to address with the above setup was this: How do we manage people in a totally distributed company?<\/p>\n<p>The solution: Manage agreements, not people.<\/p>\n<p>While we do all that we can to be compassionate, and always seek to understand the feelings of others, we never try to manage those feelings.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, we create and manage agreements with each other on an adult-to-adult basis. In our experience, this creates more accountability, respect, and open communication.<\/p>\n<p>Agreements are two-sided and focused on results. A commitment to managing agreements is a commitment between professional adults to work and serve. Together. We&#8217;re all serving and nobody is being managed.<\/p>\n<p>Listen, this is not magic, and every organization is different.
