If good folks like your clients, employees, etc. are confused about what you expect them to do in any given situation, you’re in trouble.<\/p>\n

“Why?”<\/p>\n

Because \u201cI give up\u201d is usually next.<\/p>\n

The good news: While orienting folks in life and in business is a never-ending job, you can make it easier by following a simple three-step formula.<\/p>\n

Step #1: Keep It Super Simple.<\/strong>
\n(By ‘it<\/strong>,’ we mean your ‘how-tos,’ signs, manuals, emails, etc.)<\/p>\n

Step #2: Use pictures to orient folks.<\/strong>
\n(Because most people think with their eyes.)<\/p>\n

Step #3: Immediately ask yourself, “What else am I assuming folks already know?<\/strong>” and then quickly go back to step #1.<\/p>\n

(Because this kind of work is never done.)<\/p>\n
