Have you noticed how BS has been slowly but surely disappearing from some of the places it used to call home in our lives?
Case in point: Canada’s big life insurance companies are finally starting to simplify their businesses. But don’t take our word for it:
“You are going to continue to see even-simpler application processes for life insurance… and we’ll reduce significantly the number of days it takes somebody to buy one of our products,” are just some of the things which the CEO of Sun Life Insurance, Dean Connor, said in a recent Globe and Mail article.
You know what’s one of the top reasons why BS has been slowly but surely disappearing from some of the places it used to call home in our lives? Because of millennials.
// Here’s an internet high-five if you’re a millennial β! We love you! //
Things that matter to Canada’s millennials are finally starting to matter to businesses because millennials are now the biggest generation in the Canadian workforce.
Contrary to what some old-schoolers would have you believe, millennials arenβt from a different planet.
They’re our colleagues, neighbours, business partners, physicians, writers, teachers, software engineers, nurses, nieces, nephews, kids.
That’s why, mostly, millennials want the same things you and I do: health and well-being, friendship, love, etc.
Did you notice the qualifier ‘mostly’ in the previous sentence?
It’s there because millennials do have some expectations about work and life which are different from those of the folks who preceded them. For example, millennials EXPECT LESS BS. NAO. Full stop.
Our lives are richer because of you, millennials. Thanks, guys!

p.s. If you want, go ahead: hashtag EXPECT LESS BS. All caps, of course. Because Yeezy.
