File this under: 19 years of chats with entrepreneurs distilled in 60 seconds.

“What element of your website is the best relationship-starter for new customers?”

That’s one of the top questions we’ve asked entrepreneurs over the last 19 years.

Their first reply? Silence. We usually get a lot of silence.

(Are you surprised? Probably not.)

How would you answer the above question?

Here’s our 2¢: Nothing on your website matters more than your words. Nothing.

(We’re assuming that you’re good at what you do, and that your website is functional.)

Your words can make your biz approachable, competent, and trustworthy. But if not done well, they can also make it seem uninteresting or even flat-out tiresome.

That is why words don’t come after the website is done.

Words are the foundation, the core, and the flywheel of a website.

(Amazon gets this: Words in the form of reviews are the best relationship-starter for its new customers.)

Over to you: Are your writing skills on par with your business goals?

And if writing is not your strong suit, why wouldn’t you hire a pro to help you? 🤔
